The Modern American Music Director must be so much more than a presence occupying a box on a stage. This person should posses and constantly refine an artistic vision for and alongside their colleagues while being indefatigable in their mission to cultivate a community of people who have fallen in love with all that art has to offer. It is these artistic leaders that will inspire the hearts and minds of the many.

Community Engagement
Hardeman's approach to presenting the orchestra to the community centers on creating concert experiences that are specific to the members of that community and tying them to the broader human experience. He can often be found greeting concertgoers after his performances.
Educational Initiatives
Deeply passionate about music education, Maestro Hardeman's work centers around giving students the tools to listen and perform at the highest levels and make informed artistic decisions. Hardeman has served as a Guest Artist at The Juilliard School, Guest Faculty at the Eastman School, Music Director of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and Conductor of the City of Rochester's ROCmusic Studio Strings Ensemble. Ultimately, Hardeman aims to develop in his students a lifelong love of music and an appreciation of the slow and deliberate process of becoming the best versions of ourselves.
